Description

Carl, a fisherman is found dead, entangled in his own nets. He has a serious head wound. Was he murdered? Kazuo (Rick Yune), another fisherman, is suspected of the crime. During the investigation and the trial, post-war anti-Japanese feelings flare up. Ishmael (Ethan Hawke), a local journalist, faces a tough time when he finds out that his ex-girlfriend, Hatsue (Youki Kudoh), is involved in the murder. When he investigates the case further, he makes a very chilling discovery.
